Review: Luhvee

I was provided this free product in return for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Like most people these days, I’m terrible at printing any of my eight thousand digital photos. I used to make it a priority to order photo books every year, but I’ve slacked off big time. Recently, I came across a company called Luhvee that helps you build custom memory books and I was so excited to finally create a tangible keepsake for River.

Here are some tips and tricks from my own book-making experience…

I wanted to create something Riv could look back on for years to come, so I went with the I LOVE YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE book with a hard cover.

This is a customizable photo book that lets you keep track of milestones and add personal anecdotes about your child. In order to select the best photos for each page, I found it was easiest to go through each of the pages first before actually starting anything. By doing this, I was able to read through each page and figure out what pictures I needed to pull from my computer up front rather than having to select one each time I came to the next page. I created a folder on my desktop that held all of my selected photos and then I was able to simply drag and drop them all into the site. This ended up saving time in the end and made me feel more organized throughout the book-making process. I also want to note that I am seriously impressed with the photo quality. The website reminds you to check for resolution while you create the book but mine appeared a little out of focus online. I wasn’t sure how they’d come out in print, but all the photos were perfect!

Another good thing to note about the photos is that you can import from either Facebook or Instagram, too. That makes it super easy to create these books in a snap if you need to!

The fill-in-the-blank text portions make writing out special memories really simple. There is spell check in the box as you type but not in the text box in the book draft, so make sure to double-check everything!

This book would be perfect for most ages, but there are a couple pages that make it more appropriate for older kids. For instance, one page’s text is “I  thought it was so cute the way you used to say…” That obviously doesn’t work for a kid who doesn’t speak yet. Another page has text that says “When I  think back on your earlier years…” This is better for older kids with “years” under their belts. I thought I was going to be so restricted and forced to get really creative BUT I WAS WRONG! I realized it pretty deep into my book, but you can totally customize every single text box. Just click on the option to “write your own text.” There’s a maximum character count, but hellooooo flexibility. Such a game changer and made my book make a lot more sense for Riv.

They also have an online chat feature that allows you to talk with a representative if you have any questions. One representative actually initiated a chat with me to ensure the process was going smoothly for me. I felt so well taken care of!

There are nine different book options to choose from, so finding one that fits your needs should be super easy. And even though some of them seem pretty specific, have fun with the customization and free text boxes, and make any of them your own!

It’s been so fun being able to read my sentiments aloud to Riv and point out all of the cute photos of him along the way. This is something I know we’ll both treasure forever.
